Brett Lee rules out prospects of wearing a baggy green in future
Brett http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lee-c72382, the Australian pacer, has once again declined any prospects of returning to the Test cricket team, quashing the rumours that he might be wearing the baggy green again in the near future.
Talking to the media on the Day four of ongoing Adelaide Test Brett Lee said that there is no chance of a return to the Test arena. "I certainly won’t be putting a baggy green cap back on," said Lee."I’ve loved every Test match I have had a chance to play,
but my Test days are over,” he added further.
The 34-year-old fast bowler said that he is focusing on limited overs game these days and said that he is looking forward to earn a place in the one-day squad against England.
"I’m focusing now on 50-over cricket and 20-over cricket and I’d love to be in the Australian side as soon as possible, hopefully against England shortly."
Calls for the Australian pacer’s comeback to the five-day cricket have grown louder after his solid performances in Australia’s domestic one-day tournament, the Ryobi One-day Cup, where he finished 5 for 47 against the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Western-Australia-c865 Redbacks followed
by the figures of 3 for 51 against the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tasmania-c854 Tigers. The lack of penetration of Australian attack in the ongoing Ashes series also prompted the fans and the former Australian players think over the possibility of calling Lee back into Test side ahead of
the Perth Test to save the series.
Mitchell Johnson was Australia's spearhead pacer in the ongoing Ashes series but was axed from the side after returning wicket-less in the Brisbane opener bringing in Doug Bollinger at place while Ben Helfinhaus was replaced with Ryan Harris, but useless
as England declared its first innings at Adelaide at 620 for 5.
Lee, who made his Test debut in December 1999 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 pacer picked up 310 Test wickets from 76 appearances at an average of 30.81. Despite being Australia’s spearhead bowler for
complete nine years, the current situation of Australia cricket team is still not enough to bring him back into the side for longer form of the game.
