Brewer pumps water while brewing

Question

My coffee maker is two weeks old and worked perfectly. Then one morning when I tried to brew coffee it didn't brew a complete cup. Then I noticed when I tried again that instead of the water being pumped into the reservoir after the coffee brewed, it was pumping while the cup was filling (partially).
