Theres a rumor that the brewers will listen to trade offers this winter for Prince Fielder and one NL executive said the giants might have interest but they would have to trade SP Matt Cain for brewers 1B Prince Fielder.

Who would get the best of this deal?

  1. This deal isn't going to happen, but if it did the Giants would get the better of the deal because they're getting something they essentially need that isn't easily found in a farm system or trade.

They lose Cain, but still have Lincecum, Sanchez, Lowry, and a bunch of young prospects who could step into the rotation.

Brewers have good young pitchers: Parra, and Gallardo, so Cain would obviously help, but not to the extent that Fielder would the Giants.

  2. NOO!!!!!!!

Bad! Verry Bad, but makes sense

GIants have a couple more pitching gems in thier farm system so this could make sense, I would not mind seeing this deal being done

I think it goes either way, trading talent for talent

  3. The Brewers,There is no doubt,

  4. I think it would be a pretty fair trade although you have to consider that Fielder's power numbers would probably drop because of At&t park being a pitchers' park.  Though Matt Cain may seem inconsistent sometimes, with a pretty good offense of the Brewers I think he will have way more wins than he has with the Giants.  But, being a Giants fan I can almost promise you that Cain isn't going anywhere.

  5. not that wont happen.  the brewers if they were smart wouldnt but i can see that happeing but hopefully the rumur aint true and it dosent happen

  6. brew crew

  7. Should a trade like this happen I believe the Giants get the better end of the deal.  Cain has been up and down in his career and he may or may not become something special.

  8. Brewers clearly get the better deal.  It would be stupid of the Giants to trade Cain because to win you have to have good pitching true they have no offensive power but Cain and Lincecum can be an effective 1 2 punch like Sheets and Sabathia who the brewers could lose.   The brewers would have a fine offense without Prince as they have Braun Hall Hart and Hardy and the Giants need some power but not at the expense of Matt Cain.  If it were minor league prospect pitchers maybe but you cannot build a winner without your best pitchers.  If the giants did this it would be similar to Texas trading Volkez to the Reds for Josh Hamilton.  Texas has a huge offense but no pitching so therefore they cannot win.

  9. Brewers. Prince has proved this year that he cant be counted in clutch situations as he has continuosly failed to come through, and to me it is unlikely that he will ever produce another 50 hr season like last year.

  10. Crew
