Brewster, NY to Princeton, NJ and back by Train?? Help??

Ok so I know this sounds really weird, but both my boyfriend and I are really bad at figuring out train schedules and how to even figure it out is beyond us! So can anyone help? He lives in CT and I live in NJ, and we want to try seeing each other by taking a train instead of by car, since gas is sooo expensive. By train, how can he get from Brewster, NY to Princeton, NJ; and how can I get from Princeton, NJ to Brewster, NY?? Step by Step please....serious answers only please! THANKS!

You can reach me by caravan, cross the desert like an Arab man, I don't care how you get there, just get here if you can!

From Brewster, NY, to Princeton, NJ.

1. Go to Brewster Station (Main Street & Ellen Ave).

2. Get on Metro-North to Grand Central (42nd & Park).

3. Take cab/walk to Penn Station (33rd & 7th).

4. From Penn Station, take NJ Transit/Amtrak to Princeton Junction, NJ (2 Wallace Cir).

I don't know a way to get from Penn station to where you want to go in upstate NY.  The Amtrak doesn't go near Brewster.  Poughkeepsie is the closest.
