Bria Throssell grabs 200m butterfly crown: Australia State Teams Age Group SC Championships
Bria Throssell dominated proceedings on day three of the 2011 Australia State Teams Age Group Short Course Championships in Canberra, Australia, on Monday, September, 19. The session of the meet conducted the Girls 15-16 years old 200m butterfly final race.
Bria Throssell of WA powered the finishing wall as she ended her swim in a time of 2 minutes and 11.81 seconds to retain the title. After the race, Throssell was happy with her amazing swim in the respective meet.
In the corresponding swim, Ely Gasparotto of NSW took home silver medal on the podium by posting a winning time of 2 minutes and 13.39 seconds. On the other hand, Kaelyn Hann of QLD snared bronze medal by submitting an impressive time of 2 minutes and 15.44
seconds. After the final heat, Hann was immensely happy with her splash in the meet.
Emma Niere of VIC earned four place honours with an impressive mark of 2 minutes and 15.88 seconds, while Chri Licciardi of VIC rounded out the top five swimmers in a time of 2 minutes and 16.32 seconds. Georgia Miller of NSW was placed sixth in a time of
2 minutes and 16.54 seconds, whereas, Emma Essex of QLD earned seventh place honours in a time of 2 minutes and 17.22 seconds.
Adele Schultz of WA was placed eight in a time of 2 minutes and 17.88 seconds, while Alici Caldwell of NSW earned ninth place honours in 2 minutes and 18.90 seconds. Joanna Smart of TAS was placed tenth after she touched the finishing wall in a time of 2
minutes and 24.24 seconds, whereas, Ellysia Oldsen of SA settled eleventh in a time of 2 minutes and 29.27 seconds. Geor Clarnette of SA was placed twelfth after she ended her swim in a time of 2 minutes and 31.57 seconds.
All participants took a huge ovation from the crowd due to their impressive swims, and the victorious athletes were awarded medals and accolades after completion of scheduled meets on the event’s third day.
