Brian Hill agrees to be an assistant coach for the Detroit Pistons: NBA Update
The Detroit Pistons’ management has finally ended their search for a vacant assistant coaching job for its franchise and have agreed terms with Brian Hill. Although, no official statement has come from the Piston’s management,
but sources have confirmed Hills arrival as an assistant coach to the Lawrence Frank.
Lawrence Frank became the new head coach of the Detroit Pistons in August replacing John Kuester who went 57-107 in total two seasons. His poor performance and altercations with the players forced the Pistons to find a new head
coach for its franchise.
John Loyer, along with Roy Rogers and Dee Brown has been also hired as assistant coaches for the Pistons in the past week. Another assistant, Charles Klask will also be joining Lawrence Frank. However, his work will only cater
the statistical analysis of the entire Pistons’ roster.
Brian Hill spent almost two years with the former head coach of Pistons’ John Kuester and looking by the scheme of things, he stood out among the only few who impressed in the Detroit franchise.
Hill has a good coaching experience in the National Basketball Association (NBA. He is a long time veteran and has coached several teams in the league. He worked with the Orlando Magic for almost six years in two terms. His time
with the Magic was considered as golden times as he helped them to qualify for the playoffs in 1995. Later, he became the head coach of Magic in 1993. He also coached Vancouver Grizzlies for two years from 1997-1999.
All in all, Hill has more than 30 years of professional coaching experience. During his time in the league, he has coached the Atlanta Hawks, Vancouver Grizzlies, Orlando Magic, New Orleans Hornets, and New Jersey Nets.
