Question:

Brian Kang surfboard?

I have an 8'6" triple fin Brian Kang surfboard that was abandoned at my house. I believe that it was manufactured by him in 2003.

I'd like to know approximately what this board is worth.

  1. I rode a 7'10" by Brian Kang. Bought it used for $300 at a shop. I see Brian out in the water often, very cool person.

You can expect $200-$300 but really the board is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. You can get the most money by cleaning all the wax, fixing all the dings and taking some flattering pictures of it, posting them on craigslist and not selling it through a local shop. If you do that, I would ask $300

  2. Brian Kang owns a surf shop in northern California. I guess he had shaped some boards, or had some shaped in his name, for sale at his shop.

I own a couple boards made by local shapers here on the east Coast. They are great boards and worth a lot to me, and as long as they are in good shape, they have some re-sale value, but not as much as big name boards.

A five year old fun board, made in a local shop, if it is in great condition might bring you $300.-$400. (and if you clean it up and have any dings professionally repaired).

Kang is known for having survived a shark attack (more like a shark 'bumping' by a Great White). If you claim that was the board he was riding during the 2004 attack, you might be able to scam a couple extra bucks for it.
