Brian Lara interested in playing IPL-4
Brian Lara, the legendary left-handed batsman of Caribbean, is interested in participating in the fourth edition of lucrative Indian Premier League which begins in April next year.
Lara, who had announced retirement from all formats of cricket at the conclusion of 2007 Cricket World Cup, came out of his decision a month ago when he signed a contract with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Southern-Rocks-c845 to play in Zimbabwe's Stanbic Bank T20 competition.
Lara had also undergone negotiations with English county http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Surrey-c851 but could not reach a deal. And now the 41-year-old former Wisden Cricketer of the Year is gearing up to participate in the IPL-4.
"If I was to give myself a chance to play in the IPL, then I need to start now," said Lara in an interview with a cricket website. "I am not going to say that I am ready for the IPL. The option is around the corner, and I have put my name
in the hat."

has ever seen, would draw the interest of most of the eight IPL franchises participating in the 2011 season of the league.

Shane Warne might not allow them raise such questions as legendary leg-spinner, except IPL-3, has proven that age rarely matters for some greats.
Lara, who compiled 11,953 Test runs from 131 matches at an average exceeding 52 including 19 centuries and sixty-three half centuries, has said that he would focus on his game from now on to prove himself fit for any format of the game.
"I need to play cricket regularly from now till then to get fit and capable of doing justice to the game and to my form in such a highly competitive league."
