Legendary West Indian batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Brian-Charles-Lara-c48471, feels that his compatriot, Darren Bravo is immensely talented and has the ability to become a world-class player one day.
The 23-year-old cricketer from Trinidad & Tobago is considered to be one of the most talented young batsmen in world cricket. The stylish left-hander has impressed cricket analysts all around the globe and has already played
some match-winning knocks at the highest stage of the game.
Bravo’s batting style resembles a lot with Lara's, who is one of the greatest batsmen of all times and many former cricketers believe that the youngster will carry the burden of Caribbean batting in the years to come.
The left-handed batsman emerged at the international stage in 2009 and has so far played 16 Tests, 39 One Day Internationals and five T20s, in which he has scored more than 2000 runs.
Lara, who still holds the records of most runs in an innings in Tests as well as first-class cricket, feels that Bravo has it in him to become one of the top players of the world. Former captain expressed that in order to make
it count at the international level; there are many other things that are needed in a player than just talent.
"I think he has the potential to go the full way. As a former cricketer you quickly accept the fact that as you get to the international level, the talent and potential that you have is a very small part of actually making it.
I believe he has the desire and the mental approach, which is by far, more important than the physical ability to do so. Obviously there are some similarities between how he approaches his game and how I did many years ago, and that is something we smile and
talk about whenever we speak," he said.
