Brian O'Driscoll urges Irish to go all out in must-win game against Wales – Rugby World Cup
Ireland’s national Rugby Union team Captain and backs player, Brian O'Driscoll, has urged his team-mates to go all out in their must-win game this coming weekend against Wales in order to progress further in the 2011 Rugby World Cup (RWC) tournament.  He made these comments on Wednesday, October 5 at a press conference.
Ireland will take on their European rivals, Wales, in the first quarter-final of the 2011 RWC on Saturday, October 8 at Westpac Stadium, Wellington. Ireland is yet to concede a game in the tournament and they will be motivated by the fact that they have delivered a shocking defeat to the 2011 RWC favourites, Wallabies.
O’Driscoll has asked his players to give their best in Saturday’s important game. He added that most of the players of the Irish squad, including him, are playing their last RWC tournament and they will be looking forward to end it on a high note. He added, “This game is huge because of the stage we're at. It's knockout rugby.”
Ireland’s talented O’Driscoll has expressed his confidence that the team will rise to the occasion. He added that the team is aware of the fact that in order to stay in the tournament they have to win this game or else they will have to pack their bags and return home. He commented, “Otherwise someone else will reach the next round and we'll be the ones going home with the what-ifs.”
Commenting on the team’s game plan for Saturday’s quarterfinal clash, O’Driscoll added that they will play pressure rugby, with an ultimate aim to end the match as winners. He has expressed his confidence that their back row trio of Stephen Ferris, Sean O'Brien, and Jamie Heaslip will fire all cylinders in their upcoming clash against Wales. He added, “They've been going very well. On their day they're a world class trio and have been putting in some good performances.”
The winner of Ireland and Wales encounter will take on the winner of the England versus France encounter in the semi-final.
