Brian O'Driscoll fit to Captain Irish Rugby team Against the All Blacks

Brian O'Driscoll is an Irish professional rugby union player and is currently the captain of Irish National team. Brian has also captained the Leicester Rugby team, and the British and Irish Lions. Brian insisted on Saturday that he will be fit for their match against the All Blacks and will be able to play. However, instead of practicing for the big game tomorrow he sat out of the training on Friday. A bout of vertigo on Thursday night left Brian O’Driscoll feeling dizzy and therefore as a safety measure, he missed his training session on Friday. The Irish captain is totally confident that he will feel alright in the next 24 hours and will enter the field in a fit condition.

The Irish will make their 23rd attempt against the All Blacks and are aiming for their first ever win, as they have lost all the 22 previous attempts.  Although in their 2006 and 2008 tours, they came close to the victory but somehow they were not able to grasp it. Ireland’s previous best result against New Zealand is a 10-10 draw in 1973, since then they lost the game they had played against the Kiwis. After losing their players such as Stephen Ferris, Jerry Flannery, Paul O’Connell, Rory Best and Keith Earls due to injury, the Irish team cannot lose their skipper and veteran O'Driscoll in New Plymouth.

It’s not the first time the 31 year old Irish star player is affected by vertigo but according to him, the symptoms were not as dangerous as in 2009. At that time, he had to miss the Six Nation Grand Slam celebration and after 2009, O’Driscoll hasn’t had any for a while until on Thursday, just two days before the big match. In 2009 when he had a problem, he was not able to eat dinner on the celebration night for their winning the Grand Slam.

O’Driscoll felt dizzy last night and went to bed early but he felt much better in the morning but he didn’t make an appearance in the training session, as he was not planning to take any risks with his health and wanted to remain fit for the Saturdays match. He stayed behind as the team went to Yarrow Stadium for practice. Gordon D’Arcy his midfield partner also stayed behind and sat out of the training session but coach Declan Kidney was not overly worried, even though he knew that they will be playing ahead the world’s number one side.

Declan Kidney asked the guys how they were feeling and if they felt that they would be able to play easily, then they should do it otherwise they couldn’t be forced. It was recorded in the past that the Irish team displayed some good performance for 50 to 60 minutes but were not able to complete the full 80 minutes, as they started feeling dizzy in the last minutes of the game.

O'Driscoll seven times in his career against the All Blacks has been on the wrong end of the score line. The Irish team needs to play together as a team, rather than individuals, so that they could give their best performance overall. This is the only way they can score their first victory this Saturday. Steve Hansen the All Blacks forwards coach has been talking this week that they will once again show their dominance over the Irish team and will totally dominate them throughout the match. Connacht's Sean Cronin and John Muldoon will face their worst fears as they have been included in the team and will play against the All Black this Saturday. Both of them have played twice for Ireland, Cronin played against Wales and Fiji, whereas Muldoon was in the team against United States and Canada.
All will be decided on Saturday in the biggest match between the two rivals. Will Ireland be able to grasp victory or will once again face defeat from the All Blacks.
