Brian Stann ready to lock horns with Michael Bisping at UFC 152 – UFC News
UFC middleweight fighter Brian Stann will be facing Michael Bisping at UFC 152. Winner of the match will probably be the man to face UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva next.
Brian was earlier scheduled to face Hector Lombard at UFC on FOX 4, but due to a shoulder injury he dropped the show.
Now, Stann claims he is all ready to face British fighter Bisping.
“I think the fans have wanted that fight ever since I dropped down to 185,” said Stann in an interview with MMAjunkie.com. “It's bound to happen sooner or later – why not now?” he added.
He even spoke about Alan Belcher, remarking, “Alan Belcher is someone who has been calling me out for seems like forever now. And to be quite frank, I'm sick of it. So Alan Belcher, if your balls are big enough, call Joe Silva and let's do it.”
He added that he has great deal of respect for Alan. He added, “But for me, I just think that the storyline would garner more attention between me and Bisping.”
According to Stann, the storyline between him and Bisping would be more attention grabbing than the match itself. He added that he has always wanted to fight guys who ranked ahead of him and Bisping is one of them. Even Stann agrees that Bisping is very
close to a title shot.
Stann believes it is his time to go for the title and right now he needs to go through Bisping for that. Stann even reacted to Bisping’s trash-talk saying that is how Bisping does it.
He added, “I don't have anything personal against him. I don't know how much respect he gives me as a fighter. Last night, he was much more respectful. I just think we'd put on a great fight for the fans. It's a fight he thinks he can win and I think I can
win.”
For now, Stann is on the move to face Bisping and he is determined to beat the Briton. He wants to beat Bisping to finally get his hands on Silva, the longest reigning UFC middleweight titlist.
