Brian Stann talks about Michael Bisping – UFC News
Surprisingly, Brian Stann just got sweeter for Michael Bisping, even though the latter has been talking trash about him. Stann is scheduled to meet Bisping at UFC 152 and the winner of the match will supposedly be the number one contender for a title shot
at middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
According to Stann, he is looking forward to his fight against Bisping, as he wants to make it an exciting one.
“Michael Bisping is a veteran and a fighter whose style I've admired for a long time. For the UFC to match me up against him tells me the company thinks highly of me,” said Stann in an interview with MMA Fighting. “A win over Bisping is a statement to the
middleweight division. I'm looking at it that way. There are a lot of good, solid guys at 185 pounds, I'm not going to name them because I don't want to leave anyone out, but everyone's looking for a leg up on the competition. I want to go out there and win
an exciting fight. I don't want to play it safe and lose a decision. I can accept going all out and losing, but I don't want to look back and say I left anything on the table. So the only way to ensure it is to bring it.”
It was surprising to hear such sweet words from a competitor who will be trying his luck hard to get a title shot. On the other hand, his foe Michael Bisping is known for being a controversial fighter and for being a person who can talk trash for his opponents.
Bisping has been respecting Stann as well, but not as much as the former US Marine Captain has. Bisping revealed that he has been promised a fight against UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, only if he is able to defeat Stann in a dominant manner.
It should be noted here that things have changed slightly after Dana White’s recent announcement, putting Chris Weidman in the number one contender slot. According to White, winner of Bisping vs. Stann will face Weidman to go to Silva.
