Brian Scalabrine may be Chicago Bulls’ new assistant coach
According to recent speculation, Brian Scalabrine is set to return to the Chicago Bulls but this time as an assistant coach.
Even thought the White Mamba has shown desire to continue his playing career but the big man has received no offers and it may be time for him to hang up his boots and take on the coaching role with Tom Thibodeau. Scalabrine can have a successful time with the Bulls as he is already a fan favourite for the position left vacant by Rick Brunson, who went to the Charlotte Bobcats this off season.
One thing that will work in favour of the White Mamba if he is willing to accept his new role, is that he is already familiar with the Bulls system and would not have to grasp the details once he is hired.
Shelden Williams headed to France
After spending six seasons in the NBA, Shelden Williams has decided to pursue his options overseas and has joined the French outfit Elan Chalon.
Williams’s time in the NBA had been rather unsuccessful as he moved around from one organization to another throughout his career. From being the overall 5th selection by the Atlanta Hawks back in 2006, Williams has spent time with the Sacramento Kings, Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks and the New Jersey Nets. He played 58 games for the Nets last season and held an average of 4.6 and 6 rebounds.
Williams would like his new decision to be the start of a new life. He would be hopeful to become the same player he was back in college which earned him the 5th overall selection. As a Blue Devil, Williams still holds the records for having the most rebounds 1,262 and 422 blocks in the programs’ history. He also has the honour of being named the Atlantic Coast Conference defensive player of the year.
Another thing which will motivate Williams will be the example of his brother-in-law Anthony Parker. Parker is a three time European Champion and a two time Euroleague MVP.
