I am having a horrible time and love so many dresses. I think I have narrowed it down to three, but they are all very different.

My dillema is that I really want to look like a big bride on that day, but I am in my 30's , I want to be age approproate. Yet, I do not want to short change myself of the experience of being the bride. ( I have never been married)

Here is choice 1) http://www.anjolique.com/ourcollection/largeview.aspx?id=387&page=9&section=Bridal

it looks horrible on the website pics- I tried on white/white)

My fiance would love this since he wants to see my curves

But I don't want to look too s**y on my wedding day. My MOH said it was the first dress I have tried on that looks like "me".

I felt really good in it.

This is choice 2 http://www.casablancabridal.com/Products/Detail.asp?ModelNo=1892&Cat=Spring+Collection&SubCat=2008

very flowy and romantic and not a huge pick-up skirt , but just enough

  1. I really like the first dress.  It's a good sign that your MOH said it looks like you and that you felt good in it.

When I bought my dress, I tried on a bunch, and nothing felt right.  When I tried on the one I bought I thought- yeah, I think this is it.  Then I looked some more and everything after that, was like- nope.  I already knew what I wanted.  Go with your gut.

  2. I like the choice one best - number two I think is horrid (sorry), three is ok.

How do you know which one is the one for you. For me it was different as I am having mine made. I took all parts of dresses I like and took it to my sewist. She used her skill of what is good for my figure and my wants etc She came up with a design which I slightly tweaked As soon as I saw the final design I knew that was my dream dress.

It sounds expensive to do it this way but in reality It is costing me about as much as a commercial one and I get to choose the fabric and the design. It will be a one of a kind. Look into that possibility.

  3. I like the 3rd choice for the kinda of wedding you discribe! I am not a fan of the 2nd dress and the 1st design is just not for me! Pick whatever dress makes you feel beautiful when u put it on! I would go with the 3rd one tho!

  4. this is gonna sound cheesy but i just knew u have 2 start trusting ur gut about sum things. my fav. of the three is #3. its not 2 s**y, sweet, has a chapel length train. just very pretty and classic. congrats and good luck!

  5. All of the gowns are beautiful. I think choice #3 is best for the time of day you are having the wedding. Gown #2 is beautiful, but it's very formal; more for an evening wedding. What you have in mind is one thing, but when you try it on, you will know if it's the one for you. Good luck.

  6. You write:  we are having a Sunday noon wedding followed by a fancy sit-down champagne brunch. No DJ, just classical quartet.

That sounds so lovely.  I hope it all goes smoothly for you.

    I vote for number one.

You like it.  MOH likes it.  Hubby will love it.  Go with choice number one.

  7. DO NOT buy the dress unless it just happens and when you put it on you just KNOW... your like this IS the dress and you have no second thoughts. NONE my mom got her vows renewed and she didn't KNOW and she has regreted it ever since... btw i really like the 3rd one but it REALLY is your opinion don't let anyone else decide for you.

  8. I defiantly like the first one.

The second and third one didn't get a reaction out of me.

The first one YES! If you have a figure, I'd say the first one.

Congratulations and best wishes to you both.

The second dress is to poofy in the back

The third dress is OK but to plain.

Love the details on the first one. It also best suits a gal your age.

No matter what, you will look beautiful.

  9. Personally, I like number 3 the best. It's really pretty and elegant, perfect for an afternoon wedding. However, if you like the first one and it makes you feel good, then go for that one. You are the one wearing it and you should feel great in it. Yes, it's a bit s**y for my taste but it's what you think that counts.

  10. Personally, I like number two. I just got married a week ago and I guess I got lucky. My dress was the first one I tried on. I just knew it was the one. Just like my hubby!

    Good luck!

  11. My fiance didn't care for my mother's dress so I'm buying one, despite it being socially irresponsible. To keep with the origins of bridesmaids I'm wearing the same dress as them (they're wearing blue, I'm wearing ivory).

How did I know which one to buy? So many dresses which I saw online or in magazines were so awful. (I know that the magazine ones aren't really a good indicator, but online catalogues didn't have anything I liked either).

So when I saw a dress that was similar to one I'd worn before (which was was what I'd had in mind when looking) I checked it out. Not only did it actually have something on the shoulders (not enough, but better than strapless), but it has an empire waist to keep the big-hipped bridesmaids happy. More importantly, it's $140. I figured that there was no way I'd find a dress enough better to make the price difference worth it, so I went with that one. I'm quite thrilled, and looking for a jacket so I can wear this dress.

  12. I picked my dress out of a magazine right after we got engaged.  We were married six years later and when I tried on the same dress I felt so beautiful and I could picture myself walking down the aisle in it.  You will know when it is the right one.  If it helps you can practice your hair and makeup when you go dress shopping then you can see the whole picture.  Once I did this i absolutely without a doubt knew.  Good luck and I am sure you will pick the right one.  The first dress is absolutely beautiful and hey if you've got it flaunt it girl.

  13. I think all three are beautiful!!  But if your worried about it being age-appropriate, I would go with dress number 3.  That one was very classy and still make you look s**y, but not in a S****y way.  But I say go with whichever one you LOVE the best.  Like you stated, this is your first marriage and you only get to wear your dress once.  I don't know how you look physically, but if you can pull off a more slimmer fitting dress, then i say go for number 1. Don't worry about how old you are..... this is your special day and you don't want to look back after your married and say "why didn't i go with the other dress?"  You are supposed to be the most beautiful bride.  I hoped this helped and God bless and CONGRATS :)

I knew my wedding dress was the one when my best friend (the maid of honor) cried when i stepped out of the dressing room.

  14. I'm not big on the pick up skirts, but the second one is pretty, but I absolutely love the first one. Why would you not feel like a bride in that dress? I would feel like a movie-star bride!

    It's gorgeous....

You could keep lokking for "The dress" but if you don't find it, then go for #1, cause it's the one you like the best out of these three. (I can tell by what you wrote...)

    Good Luck, and Congrats!

  15. I absolutely love the 3rd dress. I think it's perfect for the wedding that you are describing.

I knew that it was the dress the moment I saw myself in the mirror. It was the second dress that I tried on - didn't try anything else on because I just knew.

I would suggest trying on some more dresses. I love that simple style. Here are a few dresses that I also think would look nice. Don't mean to confuse you - but just a suggestion. If  you already tried all of these on and they haven't felt like "the one" then I would keep browsing before making a final decision...or definitely go back and try them on again.
