I am getting married in January. My MOH and I are bumping heads on when to order the dresses. She said the end of September I say now. But it does take 12 weeks to come in and they may need to do alterations too. What do you think?

  1. the people we ordered out dresses from told us we need at least 3 months before the wedding to order the dresses

  2. you can custom-made the dress, there is a site you can check that.http://www.kanaccasbridal.com/,they have lots of dresses, you can choose that then let them custom-made.

  3. I would go ahead and get the dresses now. I do alterations and I have seen many a bridesmaid and bride stress out because they waited till it was to close to the wedding to get them and then you have to have them altered and depending on what needs to be done it could take some time. You could also have a problem with the place you order them from ordering the wrong ones or they not even be close to the size your bridesmaid needs. I have seen and heard of this happening to many times. I say go ahead and get them now.  You will be glad you did.

  4. its your wedding so your MOH needs to do what you want

otherwise I dont think you have picked the best person for the job

  5. We just went in June to order our dresses for an October wedding and had to pay a rush delivery fee of $40 more per dress.  Apparently it takes at least 16 weeks to get the dresses in.  Which seemed pretty standard everywhere we asked...

And that only gives us 2 weeks time to get any and all alterationsn done when they come in.

Better to have them in early than wondering if they'll be in on time.  Tell your MOH that it needs to be done, if it's a financial issue she just needs to say so.

  6. I say 4-5 months ahead of time (end of this month, very beginning of September). I would tell my bridesmaids a specific date that is a compromise for both of you. She might want to wait for financial reasons. Just set a date such as September 6th. That is not the end of September but also not the middle of August. You have to give the 3 months for the dress to come in and then 2 weeks for alterations. Give it an extra 2 weeks in case anything happened in Customs that would hold the delivery up a bit. Good luck! (I am hoping mine come in on time- don't wait until the last minute)
