I went to a wedding recently and the brides had both "bridesmaids" and "bridal attendants"...what is the difference? The bridal attendants were not at the alter nor were they in any special dresses. What are their duties versus a bridesmaid?

  1. I was the bride's "personal attendant" when I was about 10-years-old. My job was to help her get ready, hold he flowers before the wedding and make sure her train was straight before she went down the aisle. That was pretty much it.

  2. theyr the exact same thing. i bet she just didnt want to hurt her friends feelings and gave them a title for her wedding so they dont feel bad that they werent real bridesmaids.

  3. I would assume that your friend sort of made up the "bridal attendant" position in her wedding to avoid any hard feelings from girls who weren't picked to be bridesmaids.  They probably were put in charge of behind-the-scenes stuff, like coordinating things or putting together favor baskets or something.  I think it's sort of silly, personally, but sometimes we have to do things like that to make people feel better about not being chosen for an actual position like bridesmaid.
