Question:

Bridesmaids' gifts....?

by  |  earlier

I only have 3 bridesmaids, so I wanted to get them each something special, but we're definitely on a budget. This is what I got them...

maid of honor- freshwater pearl necklace and bracelet, "sister" plaque and a gift certificate for a spa pedicure and manicure

bridesmaids- freshwater pearl bracelet, "friend" plaque and a gift certificate for spa manicure and pedicure

I know that it's the thought that counts...but, I want them to feel appreciated... what do you think? Is this a decent gift? Would you feel appreciated if I gave these gifts to you?

Thanks in advance!

  1. i would be thrilled to get a gift like that, it sounds perfect!

  2. These are really lovely presents.  I'm sure your bridesmaids would be delighted to have them.

  3. They are very generous gifts. I would have said jewellery for them to wear was enough.

    The bracelet is gorgeous!

  4. I think you did absolutely fine in choosing gifts, what's more important, is that you are actually putting thought and time into them!

I would definitely feel appreciated if I received these gifts. As a bridesmaid, I wouldn't even expect a gift....maybe just a special day spent with the bride and other attendants...so, you've done well!

    God Bless!

  5. I too would go without the "plaques."  I can understand the sentiment but feel that most people would just end up storing it in a drawer.  What would you like to receive as a bridesmaid?  I put a lot of thought into my gifts, its really tough I know. I got all my bridemaids the same thing - http://www.swarovski.com/product/Angelic... although it seems the price is up a bit since my purchase (they used to be $55).  My girls LOVED the necklace and most of them still wear it.  Pearls are nice, but just like other posters answered, aren't worn too often.

During my bachelorette party, I gave the following to my girls as a thank you for coming.

-Pottery Barn Terry Toiletry bag with name embroidered

-a really nice body lotion from The Body Shop

    -a nicely scented travel candle

I also treated them to mani's

I think if you went with the toiletry bag, your mani/pedi gift cert would be perfect inside.  Hope this gives you a little help!

  6. The pearls and mani/pedi gift certificates are quite nice...they could probably do without the plaques, though.  I don't know one person who has received a plaque like that as a gift who actually hangs it on a wall.

  7. What you got sounds very nice and thoughtful! Maybe you could all go to the spa and bring some champagne and strawberries to have while you all relax.

    Have a fun wedding!

  8. Very nice, as long as everyone likes freshwater pearls! :)

I don't like pearls but i'd wear them for your wedding...then maybe just keep them somewhere put away...

you could get all your girls maybe a five dollar gift certificate to starbucks if they like coffee...

Again, decent gifts, i think it's perfect...and only you know what your girls like :)

  9. I would like the jewelry and the spa pedicure and manicure.  I wouldn't want the plaque because it just seems like it would clutter the house.

  10. Wow, that's awesome!! Very thoughtful. I'd be thrilled to get that as a gift. I wouldn't even expect that much.

  11. I think you did very well in given them these items..you probably could have saved the money for the friend plaque, but the mani and pedi will be greatly appreciated and the bracelet and necklace will be cherished..ver good
