I HAVE 2 LAN CARDS IN MY PC AND A CABLE NET CONNECTION...

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF THESE 2 LAN CARDS..

I WANT TO BUY A LAN CABLE {CROSS}...I HAVE 2 PCS,WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLITES WILL BE WITH THAT CABLE...

IS IT EXPENSIVE OR CHEAP...

  1. You *can* connect the second computer to the first with a crossover cable, and set up Internet Connection Sharing, but there are a few problems.

    The computer with the 2 cards will be slowed down every time the other computer accesses the internet.

    The computer with 2 cards has to be running for the other computer to access the internet.

    The right way to do it is with a router.  The Linksys WRT54GS is only $50 - the best in the class.  (You can get cheaper routers, but then you get a cheaper router.)


  2. Here is a link that clearly explains this matter. Unless you intend to really get into networking there is no reason to have 2 network cards in your system.
