Any sugestions? Do u think an herbed bread would take away from it? Also Anyone else enjoy brie with wine, what kind of wine do u like it with?

  1. I like Brie and crackers, not bread.  The best cracker I've found is Breton Vegetable crackers.  I hope this can give an idea for a nice bread.

My wine depends on my mood.  Sometimes a white but more often a red.

When having white I like Pinot Grigio or a dry New York State Riesling.  Chianti or Rioja are my favorite reds with Brie.

  2. chiabatta

    pumpernickel

    brioche

    tuscano white

p.s. chiabattas come with ALL kinds of herbs mixed in them.. try different ones with different cheeses

  3. Focacciaalle con Tapinade e Pomodori

(Flat Bread with Herbed Olives and Tomatoes) might be loverly, no?

    .

  4. Definitely a good crusty french baguette. I am not a wine drinker, but I work at a winery, so... yeah.

  5. A crusty French Bread.....you want to taste the wine and cheese. By the way, summer ( ete) is a bad time to buy Brie as it is too soft.

  6. a good seven grain herb bread or even a good Jewish Rye or Pumpernickel would hit the spot. Salute!

  7. rye cocktail bread with seeds AWESOME!

  8. A basil bap, if you have an herbal brie. If you have fresh brie (I mean, the stuff that you have to smuggle into the US to get it here) then you should go with a croissant (yes, I am a madman).

You could always melt it lightly over a pasty, which can be superb.

As for wines, pinot grigio is a great choice. I sometimes am in the mood for a red, and pinot noir can go well with brie (though it is better with stronger cheeses). The drier white wines can cause the cheese to take on an unpleasant character.

I would suggest trying it with lightly watered scotch too: the smoke of the scotch can go exceptionally well with a nice cheese.

  9. artisan bread, whole grain crackers, rosemary artisan bread doesn't take away the brie.  water cracker is also good if you don't want bread.  Middle eastern flat bread goes well.  I love brie with wine.  A sparkling wine goes well with cheese, as with a good bottle of sauvignon blanc.

  10. def a fresh baquette!
