Brief News: Fulham, Liverpool, Stoke City, West Ham United and Wolverhampton
FULHAM
The summer signing of Mark Hughes, Philippe Senderos claims he will be back stronger than ever after recovering from a ruptured Achilles. Senderos was signed by Mark Hughes on Bosman transfer.
Philippe Senderos has been out of action after sustaining the injury a month into his time with Fulham. However, now he has progress well and is on schedule in terms of his rehabilitation. The talented centre half is content with his progress but no target
date has been set for his return. He will also miss tonight’s visit to Emirates for the sixteenth fixture of Barclays Premier League.
The summer signing of Fulham said: "The cast is off now and I'm walking without crutches again which feels great. The rehabilitation is going well and I'm on schedule, which is pleasing. I've had my share of injuries down the years but that has always
been the way I have looked at it. You have to try and be positive. You have to do all you can to keep feeling like you are part of the team."
LIVERPOOL
The Reds skipper, Steven Gerrard is expected to return to full next week after making good progress in his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury. The Liverpool captain sustained an ankle injury during England’s lost to France at Wembley Stadium last month.
However, Gerrard’s absence has not been as crucial as first thought, with Liverpool winning against West Brom two weeks ago before losing to a late winner at Tottenham last weekend.
Moreover, Liverpool has managed to qualify for the next round in Europa League this week. However, Steven Gerrard would miss Liverpool next match when they will welcome Aston Villa at Anfield on Monday.
STOKE CITY
The Potters boss has learned to keep calm about his team's fortunes. After losing four in a row, Stoke City bounced back to win three on the spin followed by a creditable draw with Tottenham Hotspurs and Tony is refusing to over-react to either sequence.
Tony said: "For me coming into the Premier League, I was very new and I had never worked at this level before. But I think I'm quite a quick learner and I understand what goes on and what doesn't go on. You have to be resilient at times, and you have
to be very level-headed. It is a sound football club and there is a level base right from the top through to the young kids who play."
WEST BROMWICH ALBION
Luke Moore’s loan spell has been extended by Derby County and West Bromwich Albion’s young will stay at Pride Park until the end of this month. Luke Moore has scored two goals in four starts and four substitute appearances since coming to Derby County at
the end of September.
WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS
The Wolves injury-prone winger, Michael Kightly, suffered a new knee problem and will be forced to undergo another operation. Michael Kightly underwent successful surgery two months and he will now go under the knife again after a problem with his other
knee.
While talking about his winger’s injury situation, Mick McCarthy commented:"The knee he's had done is great so he's having the other one done. He's having it done on 12th December."
