  1. To overlook means to look past or beyond something, either inadvertently or purposefully.

    To oversee means to supervise, literally.


  2. To overlook something is to "miss" it or neglect or ignore something - usually unintentionally.

    To oversee something is to supervise and generally take responsibility or be in charge.

  3. OVERLOOK:

    1) to not notice something or to not realize how important it is.

    2) to forgive someone's mistake, bad behavior, etc.

    3) to have a view of something from above

    OVERSEE:

    1) to watch a group of workers to be sure that a piece of work is done correctly

    "oversee" = "supervise"

  4. To overlook means to be in the area of the object you are monitoring. To oversee means to be a distance from the object you are looking at. I think that is correct, but please forgive me if its not.
