  1. A pharmacist is someone who dispenses medicines according to prescriptions made out by doctors after obtaining a university degree and undertake a one year pre registration period within a pharmacy, followed by a RPSGB Registration exam.

A pharmacologist is someone who studies the effects of drugs and chemical compounds on cells, animals, humans and the environment. They also carry out research aimed at discovering and developing new drugs. Usually have a post-grad degree. You could say they are more 'scientific'.

Who gets more? Depends. A pharmacist who owns his/her business and maybe a chain of chemists could be rolling in it, while a pharmacologist who has a string of patents to his/her name could also be a millionaire.

  2. A pharmacist gives out medicines to people/doctors, often working in a place like a hospital. They have to do a lot of scientific training but I wouldn't say that they are a scientist.

On the other hand a pharmacologist is a scientist, either testing or designing new drugs.
