Briefly explain, how the sun affects our climate?

  1. You are kidding aren't you. The sun supplies all energy. One seconds worth of energy, if it could be harvested would provide for man's energy needs for many years. Star's which is exactly what the sun is, are responsible for the production of all heavy elements. We are made from stars.


  2. The Sun releases an absolutely enormous amount of energy. That energy, in the form of infra-red radiation, visible light, ultraviolet radiation and X rays warms not only the atmosphere but also the oceans and the surfaces of the Earth. The warming is uneven, so currents form, which cause weather. Furthermore the Earth is tilted on its axis at about 26 degrees, which makes the planet move North and South on its axis on a yearly basis. When the Northern Hemisphere is more exposed to the direct rays of the Sun, we have summer.
