rode by a couple of newbies on their fresh scrubbed harley....he and she had their brand new shiny boots, brand new DOT helmets and nice clear windshield, pressed jeans. she was the official greet crew, waving at everybody who rode by or wanted to be noticed by her. this aint no popularity contest, makes me sort of ashamed to have a harley..... what do you think? what the heck happened to just getting in the wind instead of a one bike parade??????

  1. I agree with Bluff Mike!

I like happy people, especially happy women.

The road needs more happy people specifically when it comes to us as bikers!  If you're happy, you're more aware, but if you're angry, mad, and don't have a care in the world, as a driver of a car, there may not be a care in the world when you, the biker, are going straight and the car facing you is making a left-hand turn and not paying attention!

I wave and smile at everyone even if they don't to me!

  2. just let them wave, perhaps its better since they're new and ppl notice them.

  3. good for them!  you were there once too man.... you gotta start somewhere, and it ain't a harley thing, the metrics will do it too

  4. Saddle up Its still out here your just around the wrong people

    Dirty dusty HAPPY old rider

  5. HD4me

I remember not having to fight a line of RVs with HDs on trailers going to Sturgis .

The Harley status, isnt what it used to be

  6. Geez. Guy gets a new bike. He's happy. Gets new stuff to go with it. His wife's happy. What's the problem with happy people?

My Harley was my 7th motorcycle. My wife came with me when I picked it up. Of course, she needed a helmet, and a jacket, and a bandana (women!).

You think I wasn't smiling? Or her? And yes, she waves.

Be happy, or not, your choice.

Don't down somebody just because they are, and you can't seem to be.

  7. Just put on your big girl panties, forget about the newbies, and get on with your life.

  8. i wave little ... sometimes a nod...... sometimes only the eyes.. sometimes the finger and a discouraging word

  9. I wave at no one, I have a few brothers that I ride with and associate with, but other than that I stay away from the typical areas where rubs hang around. I like being the old crusty scooter tramp where I have no care in the world except where I am riding to next.

  10. If it makes her happy, and he is happy, why would you want to rain on her parade?

The world does not have an upper limit on happiness, if she is happy you have not lost a thing.

And remember. All people bring happiness, some people, when they arrive, and some people, when they depart...

  11. I like happy women and friendly folks.  I don't  put on my "old school biker" face and snub my neighbors when I'm in the wind.   I wave back at chicks on Harleys, roughnecks in pickups, farmers on tractors and grannys who wave from the porch.

The road needs  more happy people being themselves and maybe not so many of the other kind.
