Brighthouse and HD TIVO DVRs?

I just recently moved into my new home and was planning on getting Bright house for my HD TV and Internet. The problem is I've been hearing horror stories that the cable cards which are supplied by Bright house are not compatible with the HD TIVO and your not receiving hardly any of the HD channels available even though your paying for them. Is this true? If so, what are my other options? I had Dish Network at one point, but TIVO is not compatible with that company. Is Direct TV my only other option? How about Internet?

With Directv you can have HD chnls and TIVO service at the same time and right now there are tv provider with more HD chnls... I'd take DTV if I'd be you remember that Tivo is not being serviced for many companies nowdays and they also have Internet service
