Brimham Boy to succeed in the Smith Metal Handicap Chase at Huntingdon
Brimham Boy is set to shine in the Class 4 Smith Metal Centres Handicap Chase at Huntingdon on 29th May, 2012, where he will take on seven other runners over 2 miles, 4 furlongs and 110 yards for £3,054.
The son of Minster Son, out of mare Winnie Lorraine, is under the training of Martin Keighley, and is one of the most experienced runners on the track today.
At a rather old age of 10, the chestnut gelding is in impeccable form, and would be willing to test himself further to add another victory to his record.
The Davids Thorpe and Cowie owned gelding has competed in five starts this season and demonstrated superior racing capability in each of them.
With the exceptional of his seasonal debut, he claimed placed position in the remaining four including a victory in the last one.
The experienced runner participated in the Level Peaks Associates Handicap Chase on 15th May, 2012, at Hereford, where he was paired with rider, Daniel Hiskett.
The duo worked well together as Hiskett brought the best in his runner, and guided him to the third victory of his career over the Alison Batchelor trained, Try Catch Me, by a staggering margin of 10 lengths.
Evan Williams’ charge, Bay Central, is likely to challenge Brimham Boy shoulder to shoulder, and will give a serious run for his money based on past performances.
The eight-year-old gelding has scored thrice in his career and will avail this opportunity to land a victory, among other things, this runner brings experience to the track, which will definitely work in his favour.
The son of Exit To Nowhere, out of Pretty Beau, competed in three starts this season, and performed brilliantly in all three, with two third place finishes and a single victory.
The bay gelding competed in the Children's Trust Novices' Handicap Chase at Wincanton on 25th March, 2012, and triumphed over, Great Kicker by a margin of 6 lengths.
The eight runners will aim to take the race and notch the victory, but the odds are tilting in favour of Brimham Boy, who will take the ride under jockey, Daniel Hiskett again.
