Brine shrimp - Storage??

The package said keep at 50 degrees or lower. So its been in the fridge for 1 month. But, people say they never had to put there eggs in a fridge. 50g by the way

  1. I did a little research and found a website that said unopened packages can be kept at room temperature for years.  If you open the package, any unused eggs should be refrigerated and used within two months.  If the unused eggs will not be used within two months, they should be frozen.  I'm sure putting unopened packages in the refrigerator won't hurt them.  Brine shrimp eggs are very resilient.   I'm not exactly sure why they must be put in the fridge/freezer after opening, but my guess is that since the eggs are no longer in their sealed airtight packages, they are susceptible to the humidity in the air which could lead to a bacterial or fungal growth.  But that's just a guess.
