Bring back the blacklist?

Question

Should we start blacklisting certain celebrities? Like, if you are only famous for being famous, blacklisted. If you are way past your sell by date, blacklisted. If you are a minor sitcom star, reality TV contestant, an 80's throwback, professional wrestler, etc. you're on the list! Would this be a good way to trim some of the celebrity detritus out of pop culture? Who would you put on the list?

"Big Brother" contestants, its producers, and Endemol who devise the show should be urgently culled. Also the Spice Girls and their sycophants and in fact all the other phony groups.

As for the media they need to be fined or taxed £1,000 whenever they use the word "celebrity".

Zsa Zsa Gabor, Jessica Simpson, George Hamilton (what's he famous for besides being tan?), Jennifer Lopez, the least talented human being in entertainment, and her husband, every guy who has ever been in a boy band, but particularly Justin Whatshisname and Lance SomethingOrOther, all of the former Spice girls and Ben Affleck, who started out promising in Chasing Amy and then turned into a plastic Hollywood action figure.

As long as people think they can make money by featuring these small-time celebs, they'll continue to be shown. Who knows? One of them could make a "comeback"...

My question would be, why would you need a list?  Why do you need someone else to tell you who you should or shouldn't watch? Can't you decide this for yourself?

Then comes the philosophical question, who gets to decide who is on and who isn't on?  What about disagreements? Then do we start another blacklist to blacklist the other blacklisted blacklists?  If that was the case wouldn't it be no different than everyone having their own list?  No different than deciding for yourself.  Why have a black list to being with?

LOL, I totally agree!  I think it is stupid that some people are famous for virtually nothing.  Like Paris Hilton is famous for her BJ tape.  I never heard of Paris Hilton before until the s*x tape and then she has a reality show.  WTF?!?!

I would say blacklist all of them except the ones who have talent.  There are way to many celebrities out there and the sad part is that each one has their own following.  We should also banish the poor fools who idolize them.
