Question:

Bringing Neodymium Magnet on Airplane?

Does anyone know if Neodymium Magnet's are restricted from airplanes? I'm traveling internationally this summer, and I was hoping to take it with me.

I don't want mine being taken away during Airport security checks.

  1. Well as we dont know how big the magnet is its harder to say, although as that magnet is a very high strength one I would probably have to say no.

The international air transp-ort association have standards and its generally reccomended to transport magnets by land where possible as some magnets can affect aircraft navigational systems.

To be completley sure you would have to get intouch with the local air transport authority with the magents details though I would think.
