Bringing a laptop to school in grade 11...

Question

when you are at school, do you ever see kids bringing laptops to school (highschool) and what do you think of them. I really want to put 100 percent into school these last 2 years, and I believe that bringing my macbook to school would help me, but I'm afraid that I'll stick out like a sore thumb anhd that people would think that I am showing off or whatever cuz not a lot of people ever bring laptops to school. what do you think? also, what are the common uses for a laptop at school when there is no wireless internet conection?

most high schools probably don't allow laptops. and if u dont have wi-fi, then its basically useless, so id say just use it at home

no question if someone brought a laptop to class i would think they were beyond a nerd.. i got into college without ever doing any homework or studying.. and im not a smart guy  -  do that in university or college maybe

Laptops are not allowed on my campus though they would be easier to take notes for. That would be there main use at school would be for note taking. And you will defiantly stick out by by bringing one to school but if you believe it will help you while your at school then bring it.

I have seen people bring laptops to school but most only use them in the library. If you are thinking of doing this ask your teachers first. If people call you a nerd, who cares. If it'll help, then do it! I think notes are easier to take on a computer but remember you cannot draw a picture on a laptop.

Though I know you don't have one, but a tablet would be the perfect laptop for taking notes.

Does your school allow it?

Most schools don't. I know mine doesn't.

They can be used to taking notes. Some people (like me) type faster than they write.

And some schools have their books on computers as well (my sister's). So you may be able to use your laptop as a book instead of actually carrying a book, but it requires internet access, and some books are not available.

I bet people will be using laptops in schools 15 years from now. As opposed to the dumb books they give use now.
