  1. advertizement.

  2. Excellent service always brings people back. Also specials during lunch can help. The restaurant I work in does nightly specials and we are very busy on our seafood night.

  3. Word of mouth. Treat your customers to good food with good service and they tell or bring in friends and co-workers.

    Good luck

  4. Guaranteed fast service.

  5. Have a "blue plate special" type plate lunch meal everyday.  And offer it at a good price with fast, friendly service.  Word of mouth will bring in your customers.  Also, people really like hot, fresh rolls or bread with their meal, so make yours extra special and keep them coming.

Especially at first, you'll need to invest in some good advertising.  Your local newspaper is good.  Good luck!

  6. Fast service, reasonable prices, cleanliness. Why else would McDonald's exist? Daily specials are nice for dining variety.  Cheerful and polite servers are a big draw, always. Good looking women are easy to look at, and a genuine smile can make a persons day.  Healthy, light meals are currently in demand.  For overall economy, people like beverages and side dishes included.  Coupons suck, by the way.  They bring in generally cheap people who may never return without a coupon.

  7. Depending on the area that your restaurant is located, you could do theme lunches on certain days of the week. Make Monday a disco theme and offer psychadelic colored lunch specials (food coloring, colored sugar and salt. different lighting). Make special menus for the different days. Change the music for the different themes. Or just decorate the restaurant for different themes in different areas. Offer karaoke lunches or kids days with balloon animals and free food for kids with the purchase of an adult meal. Make sure that the service is quick for those who only have short lunches. Definitely offer a separate area for take-out orders and maybe try curb-side service during lunch hours for those in a big hurry. But make it memorable for everyone so they will tell their friends and come back.

  8. good location, busy street corners always attract a lot of buisness. places like rite-aid and wal-greens are always located on bust street corners. the same  thing will work for a restaurant.

  9. You have to have good prices mixed with craveable food.

I really don't care what my server looks like, or if your take out boxes are attractive----if you have good quality food that I will remember at a good price I will be back and I will tell my friends!  If you have crappy food at a cheap price, I won't be back and I will tell my friends!

  10. Offer sales and discounts.

  11. I helped a few friends start their food establishments so maybe i can help, here's some quick ideas: Fast and friendly service, call in and pick up service, great prices are a must, a great priced 'specials of the day' menu, nice take out boxes that you can eat out of and close up, 1/2 soup/sandwich, coupons on the lunch specials, group discounts or large order discounts, lunch groups also like wraps, pitas and salads with a great bread on side, have a healthy menu along with easy to fry thus easy to store like chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks... and snacks that make them come back a sneak that you can't get at wawa or mcDs like baklava or fruit slushies (give real small samples to get them hooked) since it's a sit down restaurant maybe you can advertise that you can accompany easily a group meeting and give a per head menu option. Have happy employees - people love to see that anywhere. Hope this helps or get your thinking balls rolling, Enjoy.
