Brisbane Heat have added former Australian Test cricketer, Matthew Hayden, as their newest recruit for the upcoming KFC Big Bash Tournament, later this year.
The 39-year-old retired from International cricket in January 2009 and was last seen playing for the Indian Premier League outfit, Chennai Super Kings, in the third edition last year.
An explosive batsman, the new signing has added more head to the tournament, where he has become the 14th player of the Brisbane based outfit.
The deal is also business related, where the left-hander will share an equity position in the franchise, which will see him step down as Director of Cricket http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746.
After his retirement, Hayden has been involved in promoting a healthy lifestyle through his company, The Hayden Way. According to reports, the company will be heavily involved with in the Big Bash’s promotion campaign for the next five years.
The explosive batsman was pleased to help in the development of the game, which has given him benefit as a player. Moreover, he seeks the tournament as a great platform to promote his company, while also looking to performing well on the field of cricket.

The player record speaks for itself, where he has represented the national side in over 100 Tests at an average of 50.73. In the T20 arena, he has played in 9 Internationals, averaging 51.33 with the best of 73 not out.
New Zealand‘s paring of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BB-McCullum-c1129 are the overseas signing of the franchise, where the latter is set to partner Hayden in the tournament, which begins in December this year.
