Brisbane sunsets?

Does anyone know of some really nice cliffs near the water around the Brisbane, Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast areas in Queensland? My gf used to go to cliffs all the time in Sydney but I'm yet to find anything like that up here to take her to.

  1. we'll sorry to disillusion you a bit but we don't really get sunsets as we are on the east where the sun rises although occasionally if you look back to the hills you may get one that looks ok. Sometimes the Sun rises are fantastic. many people go to the beach here on the Gold Coast with the camera for sun rises and sometimes they are brilliant red but not always. I don't fancy sitting in a cave as this time of year there have been a lot of snakes about but there are some nice cliffs on the GoldCoast one between Burleigh and tallebudgera . that one has some aboriginal history and there is a place to pull in for a great walk before you get to the tallabudgera bridge. i once did that walk with a ranger when the Council was running some walks to go on

  2. Instead of competing with memories she already has (and possibly failing completely), try creating your own 'special' memories.  The Story Bridge climb at sunset, or go on a dinner cruise in a gondola, or the Observation Deck in Q1.  Make your own memories.  Don't try to compete.

  3. I love watching the sunset on Moreton Island!  I would say that is close enough to Brisbane for you.

Not really cliffs - we have a nice mountain range just north called the Glass House Mountains and they are a very great contrast to the beach.
