With world No. 83 Elena Baltacha, 84th ranked Katie O’Brien and a now injury free Anne Keothavong comprising three-quarters of Britain’s squad there is reason to be confident Great Britain won’t be relegated to the Europe/Africa Zone Group II at the end of the Group I, Europe/Africa Zone play-offs. Even if Belarus (with top 10 player Victoria Azarenka) and Austria (with world No. 50 Sybille Bammer) prove too strong for the Britons, all three of these teams should be able to defeat Bosnia & Herzegovina, whose top-ranked player is the world No. 340, and consign that team to the relegation play-offs.
