British Army Captain sets an unofficial world record
Recently British Army Captain Stuart Ball has been helping a charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers. This charity basically works for the betterment of the children of soldiers who have died in the battle field.
Captain Stuart, in a bid to raise money for the charity, played 432 holes in just five days. This was an absolutely crazy feat achieved by the Army Captain.
During the period of five days, he walked over 150 miles and probably shot over a thousand golf balls to help raise money for the charity.
On his way to complete 432 holes he broke his previous record by 72 holes. This whole idea was sponsored by leading golf group Crown Golf, who offered their courses and gave away equipment for this noble cause.
In the final round, Captain Stuart Ball had to fight with his left knee and the blisters he had on his foot to complete the 432 holes.
During the course of five days, Nikki Scott, a widow, whose husband died in Afghanistan accompanied the Captain in a bid to raise money.
The Captain feels that his heroics will be worth nothing if people do not come out and donate.
“It is fantastic to have achieved what we think is a world record,” said Ball, aged 32 from Odiham. “But it means nothing unless people donate to Scotty’s Little Soldiers”.
Stuart Ball’s wife has also been very supportive of her husbands’ ambitions. She feels the same way as Stuart does.
Crown Golf has been very supportive throughout the week. The group was also very proud to have a hand in such a noble cause.
“We get a large number of calls from worthwhile causes who are looking for sponsorship and support,” said Crown Golf Director of Operations, Rob Climas.
“However, when Stuart called and told the compelling story of Scotty’s Little Soldiers, we immediately wanted to get involved. His determination throughout the week has inspired countless golfers and staff at Crown Golf clubs. We hope that this galvanises
people to donate to the charities he has chosen”.
During the last round, many other high ranked military officials played alongside Stuart. This gave a healthy impression to all the people out there.
