British Authority warns against participating in the Chisora vs. Haye event – Boxing News
David Haye and Dereck Chisora have been scheduled for a grudge match. However, the BBBC does not like the idea of both the fighters going head to head since none of them have British licenses. Therefore, the board has warned that anyone who will participate
in the fight or in the event will have his titles stripped.
The bout between both the pugilists will take place at the West Ham soccer club in London and the event is being sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation. The scheduled date for the event is July 14 and both the fighters are ready to give fans outstanding
performances. However, the British Boxing Board of Control has refused to recognise the event since none of the fighters have British licenses.
The British Board of Boxing Control has said that it will cancel licenses of those who will participate in the event including managers, promoters and other fighters.
Chisora got his license cancelled two months back when he was found guilty of three misbehaviour charges against Vitali Klitschko, Wladimir Klitschko and David Haye. Chisora slapped Vitali across the face in their pre-bout press conference, but Vitali did
not respond and said he will leave the matter to the officials. Chisora then spat water in the face of Wladimir Klitschko just minutes before his fight with Vitali Klitschko the very next day. After Chisora lost to Vitali, the enraged pugilist got involved
in a public brawl with David Haye, injuring several others who tried to stop them.
The inquiry took place immediately and Chisora’s license was cancelled. The BBBC could not take any action against Haye since he is not a British licensed boxer.
The BBC cancelled Chisora’s license for an indefinite period and suggested him to take anger management classes. When asked, the BBBC said Chisora could only revoke his license after proving to the board that he has improved his behaviour.
For now, Haye and Chisora both are unapproved fighters for this event, and many analysts are believing that they can end up making a mess out of their careers. In addition, there are chances of both the pugilist going the extra mile in the ring just to take
out their frustration.
