Question:

British Bird-Robin?

I want to attract some British robins to my garden, I've googled it and have figured out there diet etc and know that they nest in a open front nest box. However no site I found was specific about the dimensions of a suitable nest box for them. I would like to make a box for them to nest in but thought I better find out the dimensions first, any ideas?

(I know it’s a bit late for them nesting now but I’ll make the boxes anyway, for next year)

Also I have a bumble bee box and a butterfly box, these are painted white, would the birds mind if there boxes was the same? It would be nice if they all matched.

  1. Well, I found a birdbox that was made specifically for robins by the British Trust for Ornithology, and it's 20.5cm x 14cm x 30cm. I attached the website, so you can see the picture and everything; it doesn't look like it'd be that hard to make a copy of it. Hope this helps!
