I am applying for British citizenship, having had indefinite leave to remain for over an year. I was married before and divorced. The form asks about previous marriages. Do I need to furnish documentary evidence of the marriage /divorce ? I have lost the original marriage certificate and will find it dificult to get the original.

  1. yes will have to prove you are divorsed

and the currrent marriage is therefore legal

you have to prove your self as people try every trick in the book to get into this country

  2. I don't think you'll need the original marriage certificate a copy should be fine and as you'll probably need the divorce document aswell. Although if your not aplying for citizenship on the basis of marriage the documents may not be neccessary.

  3. you will need to provide a copy of the divorce decree.

if you dont have one - then apply for a new one.
