British County Clubs reject Malik’s claim of receiving offer – Cricket News Update

The Hampshire spokesman's remarks came after the veteran claimed that he received substantial offers from several English clubs, which he refused in a hope to be selected for his side’s trip to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 next month.
“I was offered county contracts through my representative but I refused to sign the deal because of a strict clause in those contracts,” said Malik.
According to the 30-year-old, the terms and conditions of contracts on offer were quite stringent, leaving him with little choice but to forego his ambitions of featuring for the national side for their upcoming series.

When another English club, Essex, was asked about their interest in the all-rounder, they responded surprisingly, claiming that there isn’t any clause which restricts international players from playing for their country.

He however, came back strongly in the recently concluded domestic tournaments. He led PIA to win the National One-Day Cup, where he remained their highest scorer - 343 runs in seven matches.

The selection committee will announce the squad for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka on Saturday, May 12, 2012. The series will include two twenty20s, five ODIs and three Test matches.
