  1. I was born in the north east of England, moved to North America many many years ago, I tried to loose my English Accent for years but to no avail, Now I am resigned to it, and feel fine about it,  because other people think it is so nice, people tell me all the time they love to hear me talk and could listen for hours to my English accent... So if you are thinking that yours is awful, stop worrying about it.Sometimes what comes out of your mouth is what people like about you.

  2. I find accents fascinating.  Although, I find it odd that some Brits pronounce "Canada" as "Canader", or make things "go round" instead of "go 'round" (with an appostrophe) or "go around".  Or the use of the redundant phrase "Christian person", when clearly, if an entity is Christian, it can't be anything other than a person.

Maybe I'm just too quick to notice slang from Brits when I subconsciously expect them to more accurately follow English language rules than fellow Canadians under American influence.

But hate?  Not a chance.  Smirk at oddities, yes, but hate?  No.

  3. i live in england

i like other peoples accents, cause they all sound different

but i can never tell what accent come from where..:S

  4. I think Brit accents are pretty cool, especially when they mingle and fuse. Imagine a cockney lad making love to a plum-in-the-mouth lass, or a Liverpudian girl in the back seat of a mini cooper with a Welsh street urchin, or something like that. The color, the excitement, the refreshing quality of it all. What's there to hate?

  5. It's all down to taste and personal preference; some accents can please, others grate and irritate - it depends on what the listener likes and, to some extent, where s/he comes from and what s/he is used to.

I, personally, dislike the Manchester accent - it's a nasal grunt which passes for speech, as far as I'm concerned. I also hate the Brummy accent - they all sound as though they have learning difficulties!  Don't get me started on Welsh accents - they are THE worst!

My favourite accents are Scouse, North East accents, Scottish and Southern Irish.

  6. Nah manchesters fine, welsh is abit annoying and scouser accents, i got a birmingham accent some ppl find that annoying though :)

  7. Manchester accents are cool!  I like all Brit dialects.

  8. da only accent i hate is indian, pakistani, posh english, welsh an scottish - all are intensely annoyin

manchester is the best i rekon wish i had it, could listen to coronation street all day long
