British citizenship?

hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to apply for a british dual citizenship. I do qualify...my mom was born and raised there but moved here butt is still a citizen of the UK. shes an immigrant here.

  1. If you look on line the rules will seem complicated. I went through all of this.

    If she still holds a UK passport then you are completely eligible for a passport. It matters not if you were born pre 1982 or anything. Just apply and do the interview (new rules) and that will be that. You do this by downloading the forms from a UK embassy. If you are in the US the best place is the Washington DC one.

    There are considerations after that. You will get citizenship but you may not be able to pass it down to a child or whatnot. If you go and live there you can adjust this.
