Have been a qualified diver now for 3 years having got: open water, advanced open water and deep diver speciality 'qualifications', however all my dives have been in warm water medittaranean, and red sea, want to do british diving but need to know what i would need: a dry suit (hence needing the dry suit course), a thicker wet suit i don't have a clue.

  1. Water temps there are similar to ours in Ontario. If you definitely want to be comfortable, take the dry suit course and buy one as well as hood and gloves. A double 7mm wetsuit with hood and gloves will do as well, but you might find the second dive of the day a little chilly near the end. Especially so if you're not used to punching through theromclines.

You also need to remember that colder water also messes a bit with NDL. Typically you'd add 10 feet in depth to get the same equivalent in a warm water dive, making your TBT a little shorter. It's just because you're a tad more prone to a DCS hit diving cold. Most dive computers will adjust for this automatically but if you're diving tables, you should take it into account.
