ok i need exams 4-8 of british lit. i'v done american literature, social civics, geometry, biology, us history, and understanding english 2, and am willing to trade exams. i normaly do my exams easy enough but for the first time ever i got two partials on the first two test of british lit ><;;; wth do we even need this? i already did amerian lit why whould i need that! its not like anyone ever needs or remembers this c**p.(even my parents agree and other ADULTS i talked to) i plan to major in science not english -_- my parents KNOW that i'm looking for other people to give me the exams and they agree with my point, its not a very important subject unless your going into that type of field. so dont reply with help links or "do your own homework!" "you should learn it and not cheat" OR "i disagree its useful and important." i dont want any of those answers. now if you have the exams completed then thats awesome and please reply -^^- i really need to finish within the next week ;-;

  1. Well, there are reasons for learning it...our society is the way it is today because not enough people bother to learn *ideas*. They don't bother to learn *how* to read for understanding, they merely look over the book and fill out the test, ok, next.

    The books were written for a reason, and they're assigned for a reason. In order for you to be a responsible adult in this world, you need to understand the ideas of others. In order for you to understand the driving forces behind political and religious movements, events that have shaped the way we think and act today, you need to understand the ideas that fueled them in the first place.

    These ideas are communicated through literature. You have courses in both British and American lit because the ideas are different. They formed from different mindsets and worldviews, they were influenced by different events, and they produced different outcomes. However, the outcomes they produced are alive and well today, and these outcomes influence how people think, how they vote, and what they do.

    Perhaps you don't think it's important to study, but take a look at the world around you. Do you want to be one of the ignorant fools who votes for someone because they happen to be the same race or gender? Or do you want to be able to make a fair analysis of what people are saying, why they're doing things, and what's best for the situation?

    These are skills that you get through literature. If you feel you must cheat, whatever - I can't stop you. However, don't cheat yourself out of the opportunity to have a firm understanding of why things are the way they are. If you're going into science, you need to understand worldviews and agendas more than most - the different fields of science are like widespread minefields of politics and propaganda right now. If you don't know how to navigate them, you're going to find yourself in some pretty deep doo.

  2. 'Do your own lessons' and 'Don't cheat' are pretty much the only answers you can expect on here.

    The majority of posters here are parents; they have more good sense than to hand over the answers even if they did have them.

    Btw, if you reckon it's about 'knowing that stuff' then you're missing the point (and so it seems are your parents!) of you getting an education.
