  1. The good ole British Empire!

    Rule Britannia!

  2. British Commonwealth my old friend....

  3. They ARE called 'The British Overseas Territories'.

They are the fourteen territories which the United Kingdom has under its sovereignty, but not as part of the United Kingdom itself.

The name "British Overseas Territory" was introduced by the British Overseas Territories Act 2002, and replaced the name British dependent territory which was introduced by the British Nationality Act 1981.

Before that, the territories were known as colonies or Crown colonies.

    Anguilla

    Bermuda

    British Antarctic Territories

    Indian Ocean Territories

    British Virgin Islands

    Caymen Islands

    Falkland Islands

    Gibraltar

    Montserrat

    Pitcairn Islands

    Saint Helena

    Ascension Island

    Tristan da Cunha

    South Georgia

    South Sandwich Islands

    Akrotiri

    Dhekelia

    Turks Island

    Caicos Island

(Yes I know there are more than 14 there but some are the same territory like Saint Helena, Ascension anmd Tristan da Cunha)

Funnily enough hubby is working in Gibraltar at the mo --- and you can spend Brit money and Euros there but the Gibraltar £ is not legal here!
