If I was born in 1991 in the United Kingdom to a father who held both American and South African citizenship and was serving in the United States military at the time, could apply for a British passport? I know in 1994, South Africa rejoined the commonwealth of nations which would have made me a commonwealth citizen. I was looking at one site and it said that British subjects could apply for a passport and isn't that synomous with commonwealth citizen? Also, how easy would it be for my dad to receive British citizenship through his commonwealth citizen status even if he was only in the united kingdom due to his job in the u.s. military. thanks
