    The new nationality forms and guides cover new regulations and developments. These are:



    The extension of the good character requirement from 4 December 2006 to all applicants aged 10 or over.  Exceptions are applications from:



    stateless person

    Persons who are solely British overseas citizens, British protected persons or British subjects who are applying under s.4B British Nationality Act 1981.



    Character checks will include, but are not restricted to, enquiries of the police, Security Service and HM Revenue and Customs.  Any outstanding police action must be notified to the Home Office while an application for naturalisation is under consideration.
