British team Endura Racing preparing for Tour of Britain at mountainous tracks of Utah
With Tour of Britain to be held next month starting on September 11 and concluding on September 18, British cyclists are making the most of out of Tour of Utah just before their home tour.
A total of eight cyclists are representing the UCI Continental team Endura Racing including Iker Camano, John Anderson, Robert Partridge, Paul Voss, Rene Mandri, Alexander Wetterhall, Scott Thwaites and Jack Bauer and a team of six men will be selected to
race in Tour of Britain from the above eight.
Jack Bauer is at Number eight after the stage 1 general classifications and is the leading cyclist for Endura Racing who is preparing their cyclists on the mountainous landscape of Utah as Jack said, “We just flew in a couple of days before the start of
the race and this was a big shock to the system being at the high altitude situation that we are in. I nearly coughed up a lung at the top of the climb in the prologue.”
Bauer also mentioned that the Tour of Utah will come in handy as a good lead up race to their home Tour, the Tour of England and one week of cycling with a tough competition will certainly help his team in the home Tour as he stated, “This is a good lead
up in the Tour of Britain, which is our home race at the end of September.”
The 26-year-old mentioned that his chances of winning the Tour of Utah are very rare as the event is more suited to someone with better climbing skills than him. His team is mainly looking for stage wins at the current tour and his key role will be to support
the Spanish team-mate Iker Camano throughout the race. Jack believes that Camano who is currently 24 seconds behind the race leader Sergio Henao will be very helpful for the team in the Tour of Utah as he is a very good climber.
Team Gobernacion Indeportes Antioquia is leading the team’s classifications after the first stage with Team Radio Shack at second and Kelly Benefit Strategies-Optumhealth at third position. Team Garmin Cervelo is at the fourth position with Endura Racing
at the fifth slot.
