in Tennis Alex Bogdanovich lost his 60k per annum having reached 500 in the world.

Can they afford to sponsor failure wth 4 years to 2012?

  3. Rubbish is a bit harsh.  To get there you've got to be the best in your country and any one of those athletes from any country at the Olympics is going to be someone quite gifted at that event.

    Team GB got to quite a few finals and often were beaten by only a second or two or a matter of centimetres in those finals, so you're looking at someone who's one of the top 10 or 12 in the world..............OK, not enough to win a medal, but being one of the top athletes in the whole world at your sport is quite an achievement in itself.

    You do well just to get into the Olympics in the first place, so to win a medal is just the icing on the cake.

    We won 4 medals in athletics.  When you consider that there were over 200 countries in the games and only 87 of those actually won any medals at all, I think that's a pretty good result.  We've had better years in athletics and hopefully will again.
