British troops overstretched in Afghanistan and yet ?

We have 20,000 British troops kicking their heels in Germany. What the h**l do we need any troops there .? As anyone told the MOD that the war there finished 63 years ago ?

  2. makes us feel great. But honestly I think that all western leaders are still mentally fighting WWII. All our policies are geared for war. We see enemies everywhere. Thats why the USA and the UK sent about 200 000 troops (together with submarines, aircraft carriers, warships, bombers, helicopters, Nimrods and AWACs aircraft) into the barren mountains of Afghanistan to fight a bunch of slippered rag tops armed with rusty AK47s and RPGS,

    Give me five good guys and a colt 0.45 and I will rope em all in in a week or so.

  3. Answer for Leon.  Article 5 of the NATO treaty obliges members to come to the defense of any member who is attacked.  The USA was attacked on september, 11, 2001.  Members of NATO decided to meet their obligations under Article 5.

  4. unable to get a reasonable answer anywhere , why are British troops in Afghanistan there is no oil there except for cooking oil , is it so the Americans dont get lonely without us
